Before I even started designing websites for Hidden Beach Recordings, to be honest, I didn’t even know who she was. I was like Gil Scott? Isn’t that some Barry Harris sounding soul dude?… Oh, was I told .

And at first I was like… I don’t get it??? what are people talking about. But did she ever grow on me and what a masterpiece she is, especially that first album I literrally lived with Who Is Jill Scott?: Words and Sounds Vol. 1 for months straight and didn’t realize it was a beginning to ending story continuously throughout that CD! That stupid album made me a better person and definitely saved my soul.

But..nobody does like she does. ESPECIALLY ON STAGE… that’s where she can vocally kick everyone aside.

Well the whole second album release was a great learning experience in my career of music bus. I was fortunate to design the Beautifully Human site which was hosted by the label. She also had a more fan based site which was designed by Okay Player… that site was awesome also.. The site I had created was geared towards a more officialized design taking concepts from the album (which was designed by Gravillis Inc.), video, and incorporating them into the site.

I was glad she finally got an GRAMMY for “Cross My Mind” and really wish her the best career… We can thank Thornell for placing her into the right category… yeah she finally go it!….. but she definitely deserved New Artist a few years prior. Let me see…Who beat her for the GRAMMY then?…. exactly!

We want to see more of Jill Scott and see her break out over time… nobody sings and creates music like she can, and if you’re a fan then you know what I am talking about…
