Hidden Beach Recordings
Filed in LiveHidden Beach Recordings has definitely come a long way towards defining its brand. Before I walked up to the “Penthouse Suite” their site had a really funky carribean color scheme with the brightest yellows’ that would burn your eyes you’d have to see lens crafters immediately therafter. Well not really, but the site at the time was far from what it should’ve been and what they were trying to represent musically and artistically. I’ll never forget my first day going around the office in circles asking everyone where i could find some artist photos. I got sent downstairs, upstairs, told to call some people, plugged in some faulty hard drives, asked Yong’s, … pretty much everything. It was quite the adventure and I soon realized that not only designing a website was my task but more so organizing media for a small but yet really unorganized company. Oh the learning experiences.
Well I must say that Today’s Hidden Beach website designed by a firm in Los Angeles is definitely a huge improvement even from the days I had been trying to do my own patchwork. The former site which I designed, was a huge improvement from the previous and introduced some new ideas such as sweepstakes, online contests, email marketing, included videos, ecards, banners, promotions, etc. Most of the ideas for the website were a collaboration from the team at the time especially Thornell Jones from Fortress Marketing.
For a one man band trying to attack a monster, I’d say I learned a ton and progressed alot while working at Hidden Beach. Alot of the ideas spent on the prior version of the website were the blueprint for today’s web site and started a movement to finally professionally revamp their online presence — there’s only so much one person can do and i’m happy there was a team of people to take this large project into the possession (and address the budget also!).
