Don’t Hate Campaign

The Teaser Campaign was titled “Don’t Hate” which was a spin off her lead single from the album, “Hate On Me”. “Hate On Me” evolved from Jill reading comments on a blog site of fans jealouse and envious of her fame and success. So the campaign “Don’t Hate” was the perfect idea that was truly original and unused.

For the campaign we used tracked banners which not only allowed us to see how many people were posting the banners on their myspace page, but was also paired as an incentive contest with the prize of securing Top 8 position on her myspace page. Because most of the fans are pretty loyal to Jill, the effort was really easy and came natural.

About The Project

Studio 63 West is an LA-based company that specializes in capturing real images. Studio 63 West finds its niche market in the urban category and works with new and upcoming talent, some which have already broken-out in shows like America’s Next Top Model. Studio 63 West also has been hired across the ocean by Japanese magazines because of their blinging’ photographic collection of hot cars and spicy models.

The client described the site as “sleek” and “hi-end”. I believe the site is a simple presentation for his work and hopefully will help create more opportunities as a photographer in Los Angeles.

Services

- Redesigned the Studio 63 West logo.
- Improved the organization and presentation of information regarding the company, incorporating many ideas discussed with the client.
- Created a simple solution to the portfolio section where the client can actually manage and update content on their end. There were many different layouts for the presentation of his work that were discussed however the client preffered the most simplest and effective — placing them on a page so the user can just simply scroll to view. I thought it was too simple, but realized sometimes overdesign inhibits the actual content… so i think the portfolio section works out just as we had discussed.

About The Site

Hammond Entertainment is an entertainment events company which specializes in concerts, benefits, jazz festivals, golf & tennis tournaments — you name it. Hammond is pretty much at the pinacle of what I call Who’s Who In Black Hollywood and deals with the creme’ de la creme’. Hammond provides events combining large corporate partnerships along with A-List talent such as Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Tony Benet, Ludacris, Patti LaBelle, Alicia Keys pretty much down the list to every and any musical artist. Hammond also collaborates with success organizations such as BET, Michael Jordan (Brand Jordan), and Magic Johnson just to name a few.

The Original Version of the Hammond Entertainment site was designed before 2003 by another web designer. The First Revamp was done in 2003 and the Second/Final Revamp was designed in 2007. Check It Out.

First Revamp

The first revamp of Hammond Entertainment’s site was definitely an improvement from the very first version. The revamp kept some of the original ideas, included more colors and offered more photos.

The Second Revamp was designed mostly using HTML with a Flash Intro.

Second Revamp

The Second [and probably final] Revamp definitely changed the face of the company offering a more interactive site and experience of Hammond’s primary business of Celebrity Golf Tournaments, Concerts, Jazz Festivals and more. This site was a better showcase of the entire package and uses all of the great photos taken from various Hammond Events. Also the Event Gallery section uses lightbox which makes things much easier and cooler to present. The site was inspired by The Wynn Hotel website and has a similar layout. Most of the artistic direction was inspired when I visted Santa Barbara during Summer and was surrounded by some of the architectural influences on State Street. This website was created in a few internet cafe’s.. Java Man in Hermosa Beach, Pierre Lafond Bistro Restaurant in Santa Barbara, and The Looney Bean in Mammoth Lakes. About The Site

Probably one of the most “untraditionally cool” HTML & Flash websites that I created for Robin Petgrave’s new venture, Celebrity Helicopters. Celebrity Helicopters is based outta’ Compton and does everything from provide aerial shots, stunt work, surveying, helicopter training, executive transportation (in like Gulfstream jets), to basking folk in champagne while on a romantic heli tour.

Celebrity Helicopters primarily offers production services lending expert experience from working on various hollywood blockbuster movies such as Broken Arrow & Eraser including a long list of Independant Films, TV Shows, and Music Videos. Robin loves to provide aerial shots on any budget and works with directors and producers in capturing footage never dreamed possible.

Celebrity Helicopters is definitely a “producers-find” when needing to locate a helicopter service company. Also Celebrity Helicopters donates a major portion of the proceeds to teaching inner city youth how to fly and get off the streets… it’s a really cool program. Celebrity Helicopters is also growing into Los Angeles Most Popular Sightseeing Tour provider offering couples an opportunity to witness sunsets, land at a restaurant, have a romantic evening… and feel like a celebrity.

The Original Site

The original version of the Celebrity Helicopters site was designed by Precise Web Design and provided a good foundation that remains visible in today’s site. However, the first website wasn’t exactly that visually appealing with certain design aspects such as hideous tacky bevels. Also, the photos were dated and the information was not properly formatted and presented. The sightseeing tours were layed out awkwardly and didn’t really sell the tours. The tours didn’t even mention how Celebrity Helicopters was in ABC’s “The Bachelor” or in many other shows on Television.

The production page was fine but lacked it’s coolness. Like many new companies that have a website, getting the general information up on the site is sometimes a priority rather than dazzling folk with the bells, whistles, and basic marketing. So for a first version it was a great start. We saw a vision for the site and wanted to take it to the next level while still remaining “cool”, not “corporate” like the competition, and remain inline with its current version.

Also, the first website was done in frames, and although we never moved away from frames, in this instance it actually worked out fine. But, yes, frames is not a good idea.

As you will see in the original version, the overall layout of the site did not change and remained true to the original branding the client desired.

Mindstretch101.com is an adult learning center specializing in providing exam prepration for DANTES, CLEP, Nursing, LSAT, aswell as tutoring. This site was developed completely from scratch. The client have given me direction of similar websites in which we needed to fit. The final product was an original design that actually may look alot better than what we were hoping for. Also, the site is a great sample of the marketing and branding ideas I had lent during the creation of the site. The only material I had to work with were the pages layed out in word documents, photos, a site map, and art direction. It was fun doing this site as I had a chance to piece together a brand and create an identity for Minstretch101.

- Implemented a registration (which sends an email back to client and customer)

About The Site

I’ve known Robin for a couple years and have witnessed a true entrepreneur and visionary take small ideas and turn them into multiple success stories. Tomorrow’s Aeronautical Museum located in Compton is a non-profit organization that specializes in giving inner city kids an outlet to ‘realize their dreams’ through many of the programs in which they provide. The reason why there is so much gang violence in the Los Angeles and throughout the country is related to the lack of activities these kids have to do after school, etc. These kids have nothing to do… so what else to do than test out that AK47 at the mall or hang out on the street corner and become a statistic. (sad but true)

Tomorrow’s Aeronautical Museum provides an alternate outlet for these kids to succeed and be around other kids who are up making a better life for themselves. With aviation as the lure, many youngsters come to the museum after school to either take flight with Robin, take classes to learn to fly, play flight video games in the VR Room or just about help or hang out. If I lived in Compton I much rather be in a safe place too… however Compton is probably not as all bad as Snoop D-O Double-G made it. Venus and Serena came out of Compton too (but ironically enough ..they haven’t even stepped off the tennis courts to come on by… but that’s besides the point).. hehe. Ok.. Earth to Venus [and Serena]… when you guys aren’t busy on the courts please stop by and check out what’s going on in your hometown… it’s really cool!

Well Tomorrow’s Aeronautical Museum is probably the most interesting organization I’ve worked with thus far… I mean.. nobody is trying to do what they are doing. A Non-Profit flight school? .. You’ve got to be kidding. Yes, a non-profit flight school. I mean these kids come off the streets to volunteer and can learn to fly, get a pilot’s license for FREE by earning museum dollars.. what an amazing program. TAM has already been successful with a handful of young pilots breaking and setting WORLD RECORDS while captivating the attention of mass media portals like CNN, AP, Local News, MSN, yadi yadi yadi.. I’m sure Oprah will re-pick up the story sometime.. it’s that good.

Before TAM even moved to Compton and received the pandaemonium they deserve, I was probably one of their very first volunteers when it was just a ‘teeny-tiny’ idea in some small little hangar at the Torrance Airport. At the time we were trying to throw the First Youth Air Fair and Community Care Awards honoring community figures like Jim Hahn, Christine Devine, Jennifer York, etc down the list to say “Thanks” for helping the community. However Torrance didn’t really like the idea of little black kids running all over the airport so the first event was kinda hard to throw …. it was a real NAACP nightmare. (But that’s some behind-the-scenes stuff you didn’t hear from me).. Let’s just say Robin is in Compton because the program makes more sense in Compton, Eric Perrodin the mayor at the time was very welcoming and it has only helped the community there… and really they are the community that needs him the most.

But in Torrance… the place had no air conditioning and it was exhausting. (Especially when Robin recommended Tend Skin while I was taking Retin-A and my face was charred 2 days before a prom I really didn’t want to go to.. see I was a Freshmen in college at the time but went to a high school prom [like a looser] … and even worse when he had to get some hollywood make-up artist to cake my new face in foundation (because it was really charred-up).. it was tragic… I was at the prom peeling off dead skin while paranoid other kids I had grew up with were wondering about my new face…. but this is all again.. really besides the point)

Anyways…TAM was the place I learned how to make websites and actually got started fiddling around with Dreamweaver and Flash. I wasn’t good enough then to provide any help at the time… but it got me good enough to do my first website Tony Nuccio In Europe… I guess that internship did pay off?… Well at the time, we were in Torrance and I wasn’t even sure what Robin’s vision was because it was so complicated and just hard to grasp… but after all the time spent understanding the ideas and how it all pieced together, I really started to see the bigger picture, much of which is very understandable today by the track record of community events and Resolutions and awards galore they’ve received. That’s why I think I am doing the site, because I really understand the business plan and what he’s trying to do.

This is one of those websites I think will always be a work in progress. At first we just needed to get the pages up regardless of the bells and whistles (which will come along over time, hopefully).. But take a stroll down one of the coolest visions I think created in the Aviation industry and see what’s got Congress and many of the politicians in the State of California talking…

Behind The Site

I am really happy to announce the completion of the newest site I have designed. The Deluxe Night Tour Premium Package. This helicopter sightseeing tour is an all-inclusive night out. Basically you get picked up, transported to this really nice restaurant, then a helicopter will pick you up in front of the restaurant. Then you’ll go flying and see Los Angeles at night sipping on Champagne and hors devours. It’s really cool. Then you’ll land back at the restuarant like James Bond and get out of the chopper and elevate to a fine restaurante located in the penthouse suite.

This site was created as an addition to the current Celebrity Helicopters website but it is really a stand-alone site. Celebrity Helicopters has negotiated an exlcusive relationship with the all-new Stefano’s DaVinci at the Long Beach Airport. This tour is really cool offering a couple a romantic night out experiencing a champagne-filled helicopter ride of Los Angeles’ skyline at night — or a sunset if you’re lucky. The tour is also great for corporate meetings, especially those headquartered in Long Beach. One of the nicest things about this tour is that after your dinner [and drinks!!!] they drive you back home… so no stress driving home.
